Last week some of New York’s most enthusiastic members of the startup scene came together in the colorful Poppin showroom to connect with the rich mix of founders, innovators, educators and investors that make up the local Startup Grind community. In the fun exchange of knowledge, all attendees were eager to both to hear and to share the lessons they’re learning while on the road to building great companies. Participants connected over light refreshments as the room was buzzing with energy. It was a pleasure to listen to a casual fireside chat with the speaker of the month, Tarek Pertew. Guests packed into the inviting showroom to hear Tarek Pertew, the co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Uncubed. Before Tarek’s current ventures, he co-founded a two companies in the hiring and HR industry: Referio, a crowd-sourcing referral hiring platform and MyWorkster a platform that connected alumni with students, which ultimately evolved into a national job fair business.
